"The Measure of Madness" by Cheryl Paradis

I've got to say, this book is very different from all the ones on this list, but it's SOO fascinating to read about these cases! I find the human mind to be a very interesting thing and the illnesses or just problems a person can have are just intriguing. This book basically talks about 18 cases from the perspective of the forensic psychologist that worked in the cases. There is a little bit of everything in this book. Just read this excerpt from the foreword and there is NO way you cannot find this book interesting:

"Edmund Kemper, who'd killed his grandparents in 1964, when he was fifteen, was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia but released six years later from juvenile detention. He then picked up, murdered, and dismembered hitchhiking coeds in Santa Cruz, California. At the time of his post-release evaluation by a team of psychiatrists, who pronounced him cured, he had the head of one victim in the trunk of his car outside... [T]he following chapters include an angry juvenile, a battered woman, a psychotic arsonist, a clever con man, a range of liars, and even an accused cannibal... Whether it's a demented mother with fatal religious delusions, a scheming psychopath hoping to slip his bonds, a person who cooks the flesh off his former friends, or a frightened victim acting out, each and every person's behavior teaches us about the human condition."

"Juliet Immortal" by Stacey Jay

This is OFFICIALLY my new favorite book!!!! I bought this and another book for $5 at an auction in a school fish fry. It is a twist on the story of "Romeo and Juliet" that is nothing like the original. The book follows Juliet and Romeo from their death all the way to today. Here is an excerpt from the book:

"I’m not Ariel Dragland. My name is Juliet and I’ve spent centuries jumping in and out of other people’s bodies, fighting for true love, trying to save soul mates from Romeo, the man who killed me. Yes, that Juliet. That Romeo. He’s in Dylan’s body. And I’m only borrowing Ariel’s body for a short time. Then I’ll be gone, and the soul who really lives here will come take my place, and no matter what she remembers, she’ll never love you the way I do. Never."

If you LOVE this book, there is going to be a sequel that comes out in October 2012!!!! It is called "Romeo Redeemed"!!! I am SOOOOO excited! It apparently picks up right where "Juliet Immortal" leaves off.  Here is the cover (It's beautiful, I know!! Eeep!)....

"The Truth About Forever" by Sarah Dessen

I LOVE ALL of Sarah Dessen's love stories! But this is my absolute favorite! I completely fell in love with Wes, the main guy in the story. I've read this book about a thousand times and I think I might read it AGAIN today!

"Just Listen" by Sarah Dessen

Okay, so like I said before I LOVE Sarah Dessen's books! I loved this story because you would never think that people so different will end up together. Also, I loved how sweet Owen was! *sigh*

"Along for the Ride" by Sarah Dessen

I don't remember parts of this book, but I know I LOVED IT!!! One of the things I remember that I felt like Eli was THE perfect guy for me! Hehehehe! Too bad he is a fictional character though :(( But I know all of you are getting tired of me talking about Sarah Dessen's books so the next book is gonna be by another author... don't worry...

"The Summer I Turned Pretty" by Jenny Han

I read this book just a few days ago so I haven't forgotten this one! Yay!!! So anyways.... throughout the ENTIRE book I had conflicting emotions and I just could NOT decide between Conrad and Jeremiah! I never liked Cam so yeah.... but both Conrad and Jeremiah had their special thing... like... Conrad was all mysterious, since he kept to himself, and protective, but Jeremiah was VERY sweet, funny, cute, and just everything a girl would like in a guy! Oh and I am SO frustrated because the library DOESN'T have the other two books that follow it and I have NO idea how to get them!! UGH ugh ugh! But don't let me bore you with my frustrations...

P.S. Because of this book I want it to be summer right NOW!

"The Secret Identity of Devon Delaney" by Lauren Barnholdt

This book I read a few weeks ago because my BFF gave it to me for Christmas. I thought it was a GREAT book and it taught me a very important lesson.... NOT TO LIE! And even though the book was mostly about Devon trying to get out of the big lie she had made, it also have a LOVE story in it!!! <333

P.S. I SO want to read the sequel to this book! It is called "Devon Delaney Should Totally Know Better" and my BFF (the one the gave me the first book) bought it and is going to let me borrow it so I can't WAIT!!
